AMC Consultants looks forward to attending the MINEX Kazakhstan 2023 forum on 19-20 April 2023. Mark Chesher will be attending along with Johann van Wijk, Serik Urbisinov and Nadia Power.
48 companies will be exhibiting at Minex Kazakhstan 2023, with about a third specializing in the production and supply of mining industry equipment for geological prospecting, extraction, processing and transportation of metals and minerals.
Mark's technical expertise lies in the design and operation of open pit mines. He has broad experience in mining operations in both planning and management roles over a period of 18 years. In these roles, he was responsible for ore reserve reporting, equipment selection and specification, pit design, scheduling and budgeting and operations management. During 20 years as a consultant with AMC, Mark has managed feasibility studies in Australia, Mozambique, Finland, Russia and Central African Republic for gold, platinum, base metals, uranium, magnetite, phosphate and mineral sands projects. He has also conducted operational reviews and valuations at a number of operations. In 2017, Mark moved to Moscow and developed the successful AMC office in Russia. In 2021, Mark was appointed to the AMC Executive Leader Team responsible for Global Business Development.

Johann is a Mining Engineer specializing in mining rock mechanics. He has more than 30 years of experience in the mining industry, including a balance of operational and consulting experience. Johann has worked in operations, developing, and implementing geotechnical risk management strategies and providing advice to senior leadership on rock engineering matters. Although much of his experience is in underground coal mining, he has experience in surface mining (coal and other commodities) and underground hard rock mining. Johann has been working in consulting for the past eleven years and has been involved in a wide variety of assignments, including technical analyses and due diligence.

Serik has over 20 years of experience in exploration, field operations and resource estimation, and over 10 years’ experience as a geological consultant. Serik has strong background in both geology and computer technologies that have allowed him to master geological and mining software to an expert level. His experience with various mining operations gives him an excellent practical and theoretical basis for resource estimation.
With substantial experience in a wide range of commodity and deposit types, Serik meets the requirements for Competent Person for JORC reporting for most metalliferous deposits, and Qualified Person for Canadian NI43-101 reporting for gold, tungsten, copper and tin.

Nadia has more than eight years of experience in geotechnical engineering, both underground and open pit. Following seven years of practical experience across several operations in Western Australia and Papua New Guinea, as a consultant she has provided technical geotechnical support to projects including numerical modelling and feasibility studies. At Porgera, she assisted with implementing the stabilisation of the highly unstable west wall failure including ground investigation and hydrogeological instrumentation. Her computer program skills include the use of Map3D, RS3 and other Rocscience software programmes.
